  Alright, 5 stars isn't just for the dimly lit the  restaurants sans the cacophony of thin waiters wearing fully buttoned vests, waxed mustaches and a British-tinged accent.
  
  The din of the grill, neighborhood-chef chatter and both adults and children, peppered with an occasional policeman or fireman coming for their trusty eats is the hallmark of this small town favorite.
  
  They don't wear those vinyl gloves during prep-- nor should they. It would seem sacrilegious and should you bring that up, expect an aghast look  as you would from your dear Granny Rose (yes, the somewhat generously sized hips, thick 1960s glasses, whiskers on her chin, and an apron pulled just a little too tight) if the same rhetorical question was posed to her.
  
  The sandwiches are great, the bread is slightly crispy on outside and just the right softness inside. The meats are fresh and savory and the cheeses aromatically fresh, as are the sandwich add-on  crispy fresh---none of that chintzy next day brown.
  
  My eldest son got the "Brian" which was one of two dozen named sandwiches. It was breaded chicken cutlet with bacon and some sort of barbecue-ish sauce that was out of this world. Likely named for a neighborhood person who ordered the combo often-- and probably is now on his third angioplasty.

  For me, yep, you guessed it, an uninspiring salad. It's served on a huge platter with cucumbers, tomatoes and dressing on the side with a grilled chicken breast.  Uh, yeah, I suppose... et em, yum. Crisp, fresh and tasty as much as a salad could be. That said, served without angioplasty or stents on the side.
  
  Alright so I caved and had a bite of the Brian--to die for!! The sort of good eats an incarcerate might order as their last meal before hopping on the box.
  
  Once again spellbound by the amazing sandwiches and captivated by the friendly and engaging owner. There is nothing at all not to like.

  Yikes. I typically don't think it's fair to rate a restaurant after a single visit, and I'm not much of a complainer, but I'll make an exception in this case. The gentleman at the counter was nice enough, and maybe some of their other sandwiches are good, but this one was a *disaster*. I ordered: chicken cutlet, bacon, Swiss, bbq sauce, and I did hear the gentleman say this succinctly to his cooks. What I received was more of a...specimen than a sandwich. Chicken at some in-between stage of breaded and not, no Swiss, bacon that was undercooked, (a little scary...like I had trouble identifying this as bacon or as tomato, believe it or not) and a sauce that I couldn't quite identify. I also received lettuce and tomato, which not only did I not ask for, but is pretty gross on a hot sandwich. I took it home and tried to salvage it but to no avail; I threw it out. Or I should say, I threw out $8 plus a $2.50 ATM fee and a matching bank fee because they don't accept cards, which baffles me at this point in history. With respect, folks, this was a strike out.

  I don't even like sandwiches and I love this place. Does that say enough?
  
  Wish their space made a bit more sense. Ordering process a little confusing and disorganized.
  
  Staff are nice and welcoming. Glad to have a place like this on the street.

  My all time favorite sandwich place!  The chicken sandwiches are phenomenal, as are the veggie hero's, turkey, you name it!  Great friendly service for an awesome price.  The bread is always perfectly fresh.    
  
  Pro tips:  call ahead and it'll be ready when you get there.  And if it's nice outside, bring it to Chase Park or the Edgemont duck pond.

  Heard a lot about this place and thought it was all hype.  Turns out it's as good as people say.  The sandwiches are outstanding.  You should try one; you won't regret it.
